LARGO, MD — Authorities have released the name of one of the drivers involved in a fatal crash Friday morning involving a dump truck and a tractor-trailer. The mishap has closed roads in the Largo area and affected afternoon school bus routes. A dump truck driver died in the crash in the 500 block of Largo Road, which remains closed as Hazmat teams clean up fuel and oil.

Maryland State Police say the crash happened about 11 a.m. and the driver of the dump truck, an 85-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene by Prince George’s County EMS personnel. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the tractor-trailer, John Rejhm, 58, of Waldorf, was taken to University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center for treatment.

Investigators say the dump truck was southbound on MD 202 and rear-ended Rejhm's tractor-trailer that was stopped at a traffic signal on southbound MD 202 south of Campus Way. The dump truck driver was trapped inside the cab of the truck after the crash, according to Maryland State Police.
