Leslie Johnson Charged With Conspiracy
The District 6 Councilwoman had filed a motion to have her preliminary hearing delayed until next month.

District 6 County Councilwoman Leslie E. Johnson was formally charged with conspiracy today, after a federal wiretap caught her destroying a $100,000 check from a developer last fall.
Leslie Johnson, the wife of former county executive Jack B. Johnson, was also caught trying to stuff more than $79,000 in her bra and underwear as federal agents arrived at their home.
The councilwoman was charged with conspiracy to commit witness and evidence tampering, according to published reports. Jack Johnson has been indicted on extortion and bribery charges.
