Police Believe Fort Washington Home Robbery Was Targeted

Two armed suspects forced their way into the home, according to a preliminary investigation, police said.

 

A man was shot early Tuesday in a residential robbery in Fort Washington, according to Cpl. Edward Martin, Prince George's County police spokesman. Detectives do not believe it was a random crime, but have evidence that suggests the suspects targeted the home, according to police.

Police responded to the 9100 block of Loughran Road at around 2:20 a.m. to find the man suffering from a gunshot wound, Martin said. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released, according to police. 

The suspects fled the scene, Martin said. They stole an undetermined amount of money and jewelry.
