Memorial Day 2015: What's Open and Closed in Prince George's County

Some city and county services take a break on Memorial Day, while Bowie celebrates the holiday early with a parade on Saturday, May 23.

Grab a flag, your family and friends, and wear red, white and blue, and enjoy our hometown parade on May 23 at 11 a.m.

The following services will not operate on Memorial Day, May 25, and will resume on May 26:

• TheBus
• Call-A-Bus
• Senior Transportation
• Prince George’s County Click 3-1-1

The following will be closed on May 25:

• All city of Bowie offices: There will be no trash or recycling pickup on the holiday. Collection will be on your next regularly scheduled day.
• All Prince George’s County Public Schools are closed on May 25.
• Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
• Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center
• Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site
• Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site
• Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center
• Prince George’s County Yard Waste Composting Facility
• Trash Collection in County Contracted Areas (next collection will be on the regularly scheduled day)
• Bulky Trash Collection
• Curbside Recycling Collection (WILL OPERATE)
