Some residents are still feeling the effects of September's massive floods, and forced the county fire department to use rescue boats to get people from their homes. At one point, the Ford dealership along Pennsylvania Ave. was completely underwater and the County Administration Building was shut down for days.
ABC7 recently aired a story about the struggles of the Upper Marlboro Christmas food drive, whose food items were destroyed in the flood. According to the report, everything associated with the food drive is contaminated, including several drums of canned goods.
The food drive, which serves 3,000 households, is accepting cash donations. To donate, send checks to: PSAP Food Drive, P.O. Box 548, Upper Marlboro, Md. 20773.
