Upper Marlboro Man, 92, Killed In Hit-And-Run Incident
PG County Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed a hit-and-run collision Friday that killed a 92-year-old Upper Marlboro man.
UPPER MARLBORO, MD -- The Prince George's County Police Department is looking for anyone with information about or who may have witnessed a fatal hit-and-run Friday in Landover Hills, according to a police release. The victim has been identified as Cornelious Weeks Jr., 92, of Upper Marlboro.
On Friday, Feb. 7, around 5:20 p.m., officers responded to the 6900 block of Annapolis Road for the report of a pedestrian collision. Arriving on the scene, they found Weeks suffering from injuries. He was transported to an area hospital, but he died a short time later.
Investigating the scene, officers determined the striking vehicle was heading eastbound on Annapolis Road when it hit Weeks, who was in the roadway and did not appear to be in the crosswalk. The driver of the striking vehicle left the scene of the collision. PGPD is trying to determine the make and model of the vehicle, which may have been red in color.
