Upper Marlboro Youth Honor Pearl Harbor Heroes in Hawaii
Upper Marlboro youth and fellow members of the Young Marines will lead a parade in Honolulu on Friday, carrying banners of the 12 capital ships that were attacked.

Members of the Young Marines from Upper Marlboro laid down wreaths in Honolulu, HI in memory of Pearl Harbor heroes interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
“Many Young Marines met survivors of that historic event of 71 years ago,” said Michael Kessler, national executive director of the Young Marines. “Those veterans are, in every sense of the words - living history, and each has a story to tell. It is an honor to attend an event that commemorates a significant turning point in our nation’s history.”

Sixty-eight youth members of the Young Marines from 11 states traveled to Hawaii as participants in the 71st Anniversary Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration.
The Upper Marlboro youth will join other Young Marines on Friday to lead the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Honolulu as they carry banners of the 12 capital ships that were attacked.
