Clean Up, Green Up, throughout Prince George’s County
On Oct. 22, volunteers all over Prince George's County will work together on a beautification campaign. Students who work on projects for the event will receive Community Service Credit. , Annapolis
The Friends of Quiet Waters Park is a nonprofit organization that organizes volunteers to support the operation of the park. Volunteers are needed Oct. 24 to 28 to help with the installation of a Rainscaping Education Station (RES): two volunteers are needed to help with building the RES, two are needed to pave a walkway, and four are needed to help with plantings. A large number of volunteers are needed to assist on Oct. 21 to 23 at the annual event. In addition, there are volunteer opportunities include working with youth as a tutor, serving on the board or a standing committee, helping with maintenance work, gardening or coordinating reservations and supervising open gym time for basketball or volleyball. Harvest for the Hungry Food Drive, throughout Anne Arundel County
In addition to drop-off locations at public schools through Anne Arundel County, the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County in Annapolis is a drop-off site for collecting nonperishable food and plastic/paper items (no glass, please). Food drive is ongoing through Nov. 4. Collected items are donated to the Anne Arundel County Food and Resource Bank. Cash donations also accepted. USO Outreach Center, Fort Meade
USO is a nonprofit organization that serves the military and their families and needs volunteer help in the following areas: administration, scheduling, decorating, event planning, outreach, photography, property, publicity and website.
