Carroll County Schools Remember 9/11

On the 12th anniversary of 9/11, several schools are hosting special events.

Shiloh Middle School is continuing its 12-year tradition of commemorating those lost on 9/11 with Hats for Heroes Day. This year Shiloh is teaming up with New Windsor Middle School. On Wednesday, Sept. 11, students can wear a school appropriate hat during the school day when they contribute a $1 (or more if they choose). The money raised will be donated to FDNY Rescue 1, which lost 11 men on September 11.

At 9 a.m., a Century High School student will read a summary of the events of 9/11 to the school and ask that all stand for a moment in remembrance of those that lost their lives. 

At approximately 9:03 (thirty seconds into the moment of silence) –Taps will be played throughout the building.
