Carroll County Weather: March 2017 Snowstorm Live Feed

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — As the Nor'easter hits Maryland, we're keeping a live stream of updates on the weather.

How much are we going to get? Snow accumulations may be 6 to 12 inches in Carroll County, with more than a foot possible across north-central Maryland, according to the National Weather Service.

When is it going to hit? A winter storm warning is in effect from 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13, to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14. The heaviest snow is expected overnight.

Will schools be closed?

  • Yes. Schools and offices, including central office, will be closed on Tuesday, March 14, according to Carroll County Public Schools.
  • Carroll Community College is also closed on Tuesday, March 14. All classes and activities are cancelled. Students should check Blackboard for information from their instructors.
  • McDaniel College will be closed on Tuesday, March 14. The RED map snow removal plan will be in effect.

What is the county doing to prepare? The Carroll County Emergency Operations Center was activated at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 13, in support of the winter weather affecting the county. Residents with questions regarding the storm response can call the EOC at 1-888-5-GET-EOC (1-888-543-8362) for information. A snow emergency plan is in effect for Carroll County, meaning people should not park on designated snow emergency routes or they may be towed.

How can I prepare? Charge electronic devices and make sure you have batteries, a snow shovel and salt as well as food and water. Fill up the gas tank in your car. Check on neighbors and older adults. In the event of a power outage, call BGE at 1-877-778-2222 or report the outage online.
