Charm City Folk, Bluegrass Festival Celebrates All Things Baltimore
Award-winning festival to offer music lessons from artist lineup, exclusively local food and drink.

Charm City Folk and Bluegrass Festival invites music lovers and foodies to gather in Druid Hill Park on Saturday, April 30 for its fourth annual all-day celebration of bluegrass and Baltimore pride in the form of local food, brews, artists and crafts. New to the festival this year is the Acoustic University, where attendees of all ages and musical skill levels are invited to take micro lessons directly from the festival’s performing artists.
The unique musical lineup brings world-renowned Bluegrass artists together during one day, sometimes together on one stage, including Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Keller Williams, The Travelin’ McCourys, Steep Canyon Rangers, Sierra Hull, and area musical acts Cris Jacobs, Cabinet, Colebrook Road, and A Man About A Horse.
Foodies will appreciate the festival’s focus on local cuisine from iconic Baltimore establishments including The Local Oyster, Otterbein’s Bakery, Jeno’s Steak, Mother’s Grille, Cardinal Tavern, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood and more. Official beer provider Union Craft Brewing Co. will create a branded brew, while The Charmery will concoct a new, festival-inspired ice cream flavor, both of which are exclusive to the festival and will be unveiled a few weeks prior to the event date.

Continuing its dedication to supporting Druid Hill Park, $2 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens, located adjacent to the festival grounds, to support horticulture education programs. The festival will also feature a raffle to benefit Believe in Music, a nonprofit that aims to give inner city Baltimore students a multifaceted music education.
Equal parts family-friendly and funky, the events’ award-winning atmosphere, sprinkled with spontaneous jam sessions and dancing, attracts guests from all over the Mid-Atlantic. Dubbed Best Festival in 2015 by Baltimore magazine, despite last year’s event coinciding with the riots around Camden Yards, this year the festival producers are more dedicated than ever to channeling the event as a positive, uniting force for Baltimore.
