McDonald's Celebrates Local Teacher, Raises Money for Westminster High School
The McFun will take place Tuesday evening.
McDonald's will be celebrating Westminster High School's Laura Doolan -- the Carroll County Teacher of the Year -- Tuesday, and will be donating a portion of the day's sales to Westminster High School.
McDonald’s McTeacher of the Year Night provides members of Westminster High School and residents of Carroll County the opportunity to thank Doolan for her commitment to education, according to a company news release.
McDonald’s, 520 Baltimore Blvd. in Westminster, will donate 40 percent of all sales earned during the event to Westminster High School and will be presenting Doolan with several surprise gifts.

All are welcome at the event on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The McDonald's Family Restaurants of Greater Baltimore have honored six additional Teacher of the Year nominees from counties in the Greater Baltimore area with special “McTeacher” of the Year celebrations. The McDonald's Family Restaurants of Maryland annually honors Maryland's twenty-four Teachers of the Year as the official sponsor of The Teacher of the Year Annual Cruise and Gala and presented the 2013-2014 Maryland Teacher of the Year winner, Sean McComb with an Apple iPad and a $10,000 donation to his school at the Gala on October 11, according to a company news release.

Laura Doolan is an English teacher and English Department Chair at Westminster High School. She has served as yearbook sponsor, class sponsor, Stand Up! founder and sponsor, School Improvement Team member, Chair of the Multicultural Committee, and graduation coordinator. She was named the Carroll County Teacher of the Year in the spring of 2013.
