Miller’s Grant Annual Concert Series Begins Oct. 14

Patagonia Winds, a wind quintet celebrating its 10th anniversary season, kicks off a season of performances

The Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant Annual Concert Series kicks off with a performance by Patagonia Winds, a wind quintet celebrating its 10th anniversary season. The public is invited to attend the free concert, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m., in the Formal Dining Room at The Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant, located at 9000 Fathers Legacy, Ellicott City.

The Patagonia Winds is a professional wind quintet known to Maryland and Virginia audiences for its dynamic programming that the whole family can enjoy. The group has performed concerts and children’s educational programs at regional venues and concert series such as the Strathmore Mansion, the Lyceum, Fairfax Old Town Hall, Musical Arts International, Listen Local, Takoma Porch Festival, and the Horowitz Center at Howard Community College.

Patagonia Winds is founded and led by flutist Melissa Lindon. She is a co-principal flutist and piccoloist with the Avanti Orchestra and has performed with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, Inscape Chamber Orchestra and Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra. Jack Chadwick is a founding member and the principal horn in the Avanti! Chamber Orchestra, the second horn in the McLean Orchestra, and frequently performs in a variety of chamber ensembles.

Additional Patagonia Wind members include Emily Tsai, the guitar-oboe duo for Duo d'Amore; Dr. Emily Robinson, clarinet, a concert artist and educator; and Tia Wortham, bassoon, the former principal bassoonist in the U.S. Navy Band of Washington, D.C.

December 2, 2019 - "In Tune for the Holidays" – Flutes on the Brink, adult flute choir

January 27, 2020 – “The Sound of Strings” – Brahms string quartet

March 9, 2020 – “Celebrating Classical Guitar” – Jesse Washburn, acoustic guitar
