5 Counties Included In Severe Thunderstorm Warning
BREAKING: Severe thunderstorm warning calls for damaging winds. People should go inside if possible.

MARYLAND — Five counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning Sunday afternoon. The warning applies to parts of Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford and Washington counties.
The National Weather Service issued the warning around 6 p.m., and it is in effect until 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 24.
It calls for 60 mph wind gusts that could cause trees and branches to fall, resulting in localized power outages and blocked roads.

People should go inside to stay safe from wind and lightning, move to an interior room on the lowest floor and avoid driving through wooded areas until the severe thunderstorm warning has expired.
Radar showed a line of severe thunderstorms from Codorus to Shepherdstown, moving east at 30 mph, at 5:58 p.m., according to weather officials.

Locations impacted include the following, according to the National Weather Service: Frederick, Cockeysville, Westminster, Thurmont, Harry Grove Stadium, Owings Mills, Eldersburg, Reisterstown, Ballenger Creek, Mount Airy, Fallston, Taneytown, Hampstead, Brunswick, Walkersville, Manchester, Sykesville, Boonsboro, Jarrettsville and Braddock Heights.
PREVIOUS WARNING (EXPIRED): The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Carroll and Frederick counties. The warning is in effect until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 24.
Radar showed a severe thunderstorm near Gettysburg or Lake Heritage at 5:37 p.m., which was moving east at 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The storm had 60 mph wind gusts accompanying it, weather officials said.
Winds will cause trees and branches to fall and could injure those outdoors. There could also be damage to vehicles and homes, as well as localized power outages, officials said.
Locations impacted include Westminster, Taneytown, Hampstead, Manchester, Harney, Lineboro, Millers and Greenmount.
People in areas impacted by the severe thunderstorm warning should go indoors to stay safe from wind and lightning, move to the lowest floor and an interior room, and avoid driving under wooded areas.
Weather officials said torrential rainfall was occurring with this storm and could lead to flash flooding. If drivers see water of unknown depth, they should turn around; don't drown.
