Training Exercise Planned In Westminster
The radiological training exercise involves first responders, FBI and other agencies on Sept. 27 in Westminster.

WESTMINSTER, MD - From Carroll County Maryland: The Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the Carroll County Departments of Public Safety and Public Works, the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, the University of Maryland’s Department of Environmental Safety, Sustainability and Risk, the Federal Bureau Of Investigation, and the Maryland Army National Guard’s 32nd Civil Support Team will be conducting a Radiological Functional Training Exercise on Thursday, September 27, 2017, from 3 to 10 P.M. The purpose of the exercise, sponsored by the Maryland Army National Guard’s 32nd Civil Support Team, is to test and improve the participating agencies’ overall response capabilities to radiological hazards from either accidental or nefarious incidents.
The exercise will be conducted on Independence Way, Westminster, MD 21157. Independence Way will be closed to thru traffic but entrances to the businesses along Independence Way will remain open. Motorists may observe emergency vehicles during this time.
