Police ID Fatal Plane Crash Victims In Carroll County
Police said a single-engine plane crashed, killing two, Saturday morning near a private airstrip in the Westminster area.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Two people died in a plane crash near Westminster Saturday morning, according to police. The pilot and passenger were both pronounced deceased at the scene off Baugher Road, officials said.
Michael Kilpatrick, 62, of New Windsor, was the pilot of the plane, according to authorities. His passenger has been identified as Robert Johnson, 56, of Woodsboro.
Kilpatrick and Johnson were in a 2006 Ultralight Quicksilver single-engine plane that crashed soon after takeoff from a private airstrip nearby, police reported. The plane was found in an open field in the 1200 block of Baugher Road.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a plane crash shortly before 11 a.m. Fire and rescue personnel were at the scene as troopers arrived, authorities reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are working to determine the cause of the crash, according to Maryland State Police.
