Weather Decision From Carroll County Public Schools For March 1
Carroll County Public Schools made a modification to the schedule for Friday.
CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Carroll County Public Schools will open late on Friday, March 1. School officials made the call Friday morning.
All public schools will open two hours late on Friday, according to Carroll County Public Schools.
There will be a reevaluation by 7:15 a.m. on Friday, school officials said.

About 1.5 inches of snow had fallen in Westminster by 4:16 a.m. on Friday, based on preliminary data submitted to the National Weather Service.

The snow emergency plan was in effect for Carroll County from 2:30 to 7 a.m. on March 1. In a snow emergency, state police may immediately authorize the towing of vehicles parked on snow emergency routes as well as those left in roads or on shoulders. Also under a snow emergency plan, vehicles must be equipped with snow tires (all-weather tires are fine), chains or all-season radials to be allowed to drive on Maryland highways. After 7 a.m., the snow emergency was lifted.
