Westminster Home Damaged By Fire, Owner Injured
A homeowner was injured after he accidentally fired a gun that ignited material nearby and sparked a fire, damaging his Westminster home.

WESTMINSTER, MD — A Westminster house fire caused $125,000 worth of damage to the home and its contents. The incident occurred Aug. 7 at approximately 4:10 p.m. at the house located at 3609 Oxwed Ct.
Owner John Hutter was cleaning his weapon in a workshop in his basement when it accidentally fired, igniting flammable materials nearby. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Hutter was treated at the scene. It took 40 firefighters almost an hour to control the fire that originated in a shop in the basement under the stairs.
