On Sunday, Aug. 11, crews will be installing special equipment on several bridges on Maryland Route 97 to accommodate the transformer, which is leaving from Westminster at 6 a.m. Sunday morning. As the transformer Is driven over each bridge, the equipment will be removed.

While the special equipment is in place, traffic headed both directions will be diverted from Route 97 to Route 496 (Bachman Valley Road); Route 30 (Hanover Pike), Pennsylvania Route 94 (Baltimore Pike) and Pennsylvania Route 194 (Hanover Pike).

Drivers should also expect delays on Hahn and Englar Roads Sunday morning between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.

The transformer will be driven – slowly – to Gettysburg. It’s expected to cross the Pennsylvania state line at about 6 a.m. Monday morning, according to the SHA.
