Pedestrian Crash Kills Man In Wheaton: Police

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car as he tried to cross a road in Wheaton Monday night, police said.

WHEATON, MD — A man was struck and killed while trying to cross a road in Wheaton Monday night, a statement from the Montgomery County Police Department says.

Police responded to the area of Glenallan Avenue at about 8:26 p.m.

The unidentified man was attempting to cross southbound Georgia Avenue between Glenallan Avenue and Urbana Drive when he was struck by a 2006 Dodge Sprinter that was traveling south on Georgia Avenue, police said.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver remained on the scene. This collision investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.

Another man was struck and killed while walking in Wheaton Saturday night.

The accident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Georgia Avenue at Veirs Mill Road.
