Police Seek Missing Wheaton Teen

WHEATON, MD — Police are asking the public for help in locating a teen missing from the Wheaton area.

Melvin Gabriel Amaya, 16, of the 2300 block of Blueridge Ave., has been reported missing by his family, police said.

Police and family are concerned for Amaya’s welfare.

Amaya is described by police as a Hispanic male, 5’06” and weighs 145 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Amaya was last seen wearing gray pants with an orange long-sleeved shirt.

Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Melvin Amaya is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24 hours).
