Red Line Trains Delayed For Burning Insulator Near Platform

WHEATON, MD — Red Line trains are delayed Wednesday morning due to a burning insulator near a Metro platform in Wheaton, officials said.

The fire started at the Wheaton Metro stop, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer said.

Red Line trains are single tracking between Silver Spring and Wheaton.

Riders should expect delays in both directions, Metro officails said.
