16-Year-Old Juvenile Arrested In New Bedford Park Shootings
Detectives have tied the 16-year-old to two recent playground shootings.
NEW BEDFORD, MA — Narcotics and Major Crimes detectives executed a search warrant at 10 Washington St. #2 on Friday.
During their search, police say they found crack cocaine, cash, ammunition and a loaded, semi-automatic pistol with the serial numbers scratched out.
A 16-year-old juvenile whose name has not been released was the target of this hefty investigation.

While investigating, detectives were able to gather viable information that tied the teen to two recent shoot incidents around the area, occurring at Montes playground.
The first shooting happened on May 23 and the second happened just two weeks ago on June 12 of this year.

Vehicles were damaged during these incidents and one of the bullets entered through a window of a nearby apartment building, police say.
The unnamed juvenile currently has an open case in New Bedford district court for assault with a firearm earlier in the year.
