Ex-Duxbury Coach Lied About Relationship With Teacher
In a 30-page report from Duxbury Schools, a lawyer found that John Blake is not a credible source of information.
DUXBURY, MA — An investigation launched by Duxbury Public Schools found that ex-hockey coach John Blake, who was accused of sexually assaulting a student in the early 2000s, is not credible after he lied about a relationship with another teacher, and lied about his relationship with the student he is accused of assaulting.
The Boston Globe reported that the investigation was launched last year by the parents of a boy who accused Blake, his then middle school teacher, of raping him from 2005-2007.
The Globe says that the parents came forward to school officials and police last November after their son died of an accidental overdose.

The 30-page report from The Boston Globe concluded that the lawyer in charge of the case said there was no direct evidence of the alleged sexual abuse, but also that Blake is not a credible witness because the report found that he lied about a relationship he had with a former teacher.
Blake also denied even knowing the student even though the student was only one of three in the class, according to the report.

The allegations against Blake prompted the school to terminate his employment, and since then, a recent incident involving anti-Semitic slurs on the Duxbury football team initiated the firing of Coach Dave Maimaron.
After Maimaron's firing, Duxbury's Athletic Director Thom Holdgate stepped down in wake of the scandals.
