Methuen Girl In Critical Condition After Near-Drowning

The Essex County District Attorney's Office is calling the incident 'a potential drowning at a residential in-ground swimming pool.'

METHUEN, MA — A 10-year-old girl remains in critical condition after she was pulled from a pool at a Methuen home.

Police and fire officials responded to a home at 26 Myrtle Street in Methuen just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday night after receiving calls of a reported drowning.

The district attorney's office said an adult was giving aid to the child before she was taken to Holy Family Hospital and then flown by helicopter to Tufts Medical Center, where her condition is still critical.
