Woman Sues Six Flags After Slipping On Goose Poop, Breaking Ankle
A Six Flags employee directed the woman to a shortcut. That's when she encountered a small hill covered in "geese feces," the suit says.
SPRINGFIELD, MA — This is one slide that's not an official attraction at the Six Flags Great Escape water park in Upstate New York.
A Springfield woman is suing Six Flags over a 2019 incident where she slipped on a hill covered in "geese feces" and broke her ankle, according to a lawsuit filed last week in U.S. District Court.
The woman was visiting the Queensbury, N.Y., resort with her family in July 2019 when she was injured. While enjoying the indoor water park, the woman asked a Six Flags employee for directions to the outdoor water park, which is located across a local highway from the Great Escape hotel. The employee directed her out an emergency exit leading to a small, grassy hill, the lawsuit says.

"The grass did not seem wet, damp or slippery, but was covered in geese feces," the suit said.
Wearing only sandals, the woman took a step down the hill, slipped and fell. She was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where she was diagnosed with a broken ankle. The injury prevented her from continuing to work as a real estate agent, the suit claims.

An attorney representing the 45-year-old woman said she tried to settle the matter in April, but Six Flags declined.
The suit charges that Six Flags was negligent in maintaining its property, and in training its employee. The woman is seeking damages of at least $250,000, according to court documents.
