Acton Adds Sustainability Director Position

The person taking over the new position will be tasked with developing a comprehensive set of sustainability goals.

ACTON, MA — Acton approved and created the new Sustainability Director position and is now looking to fill the position. The person taking over the new position will be tasked with developing a comprehensive set of sustainability goals.

The Sustainability Director will be a full-time benefited position reporting to the Town Manager.

The job requires managing the Green Communities grant application and reporting process for municipal projects, working with the DPW to implement solid waste/composting and recycling programs and publishing an annual report on progress toward sustainability goals, among other things.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, environmental policy, sustainable business, or other relevant study plus five years’ experience. The salary range is $75,860 - $85,381.
