Acton PD Issue Arrest Warrant For Man Who Had AK-47 In Bed

Police found an AK-47 assault rifle and two 30-round feeding devices between the man's mattress and box spring.

ACTON, MA — An Acton man was hiding an AK-47 and ammunition in his bed, according to Acton police.

Police are still searching for Theodore Howard, 24, after finding the weapon in his room. Acton police have a warrant out for his arrest and Howard is facing several weapons charges.

Police responded to a business at Post Office Square for a report of an altercation. Officers learned that the dispute was between roommates. According to police, through an investigation officers found out that Howard had unregistered weapons in his home on Great Road.

Once officers got a search warrant and executed it on the Great Road home, they found an AK-47 assault rifle and two 30-round feeding devices between Howard's mattress and box spring, according to police.

Massachusetts law prohibits magazines and other feeding devices that hold more than 10 rounds. Howard is not licensed to possess a firearm in Massachusetts, according to police.
