Acton Receives 100 Coronavirus Vaccines, Limited Clinic Planned

ACTON, MA — Acton has secured 100 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and is working to prioritize the distribution to eligible residents.

Phase Two of the state's vaccination plan started on Monday, making all residents age 75 and over eligible for the vaccine. The Acton Board of Health is sponsoring a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for Acton Housing Authority Seniors age 75 and above. The private clinic for AHA residents of Sachem Way and Windsor Avenue only. All appointments for the clinic have been prescheduled.

The clinic is a result of a multi-department collaboration between the Town of Acton, Acton Board of Health, Acton Nursing Services, Acton Fire Department, Acton Police Department and Acton Emergency Management.

"We strongly recommend that people receive the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as they become eligible," Health Director Sheryl Ball said. "The vaccine is an important step in our continued fight against COVID-19 and will help protect you, others you care for and those who may be at risk for severe illness. We'd also like to remind residents that even after you receive the vaccination, it is important that you continue to follow all of the current health guidance including wearing a mask, social distancing, avoiding crowds and practicing proper hygiene."
