
ACTON -- A15-year-old student at Acton-Boxboro Regional High School had her leg was run over by a friend's vehicle in the parking lot of the school on Friday, according to Acton police.
Police say a preliminary investigation showed that at 2:43 p.m. On Friday, the 15-year-old was standing near the driver's side window of a 16-year-old friend's vehicle as the two spoke, according to a press release.
The 16-year-old had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to speak to her friend.

When another vehicle wanted to pass, the 16-year-old attempted to back her vehicle up to get out of the way, but as she did the driver's-side mirror struck the 15-year-old.
The victim was knocked down and her leg was run over by the tire, the press release states.

The 15-year-old was treated and released from a local hospital.
No charges were filed, but the incident remains under investigation by the Acton Police Traffic Unit.
