ACTON, MA—Col. L. Charles Allard, Jr., died peacefully on April 24 at his Acton home at the age of 91. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Patricia L. (Stephens) Allard; two sons, Chuck Allard and wife Karen, and Gary Allard and wife Lisa; his sisters Pauline Couture, Phyllis Kerry and Jean Flynn; four grandchildren, Casey and Tucker, Michael and Alexandra; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Lionel C. and Ella (LeClaire) Allard, and his sister, Claire Gouin.
Born and raised in Woonsocket, RI, he was attended Mount St. Charles Academy and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with an engineering degree. Col. Allard’s distinguished military career in service to his country spanned over 30 years. At one time he lived in Paris as an attache to the US Embassy where he met with the Shah of Iran for diplomatic purposes. He settled in Acton in 1974 following his retirement.

Family and friends are invited to visiting on Fri. April 29 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rte. 111) in Acton, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington St., Acton.
