Experience Christmas at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church

ACTON, MA – Everyone in the community is invited to attend Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church for Christmas Eve services featuring Jesus, the Light of the World. Services are offered at 3:30 PM, 6:30 PM and 10:00 PM. Evening services include mini concerts beginning at 6:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Nursery care is available for the 3:30 and 6:30 PM services.

“The 3:30 PM service is for families with young children. We provide costumes and children can dress up as angels, shepherds or stable animals. Children can take part alongside live actors and become part of the story,” said Pastor Eric Sahlberg. “The 6:30 PM service is perfect for older children and families. You’ll sing the great carols of the season accompanied by flutes, the string quartet and percussion. The service features Jesus, the Light of the World in a humorous dramatic monologue that captures the joy of Christmas,” Sahlberg said. “The 10:00 PM service adds the festival choir along with strings, organ and timpani as we sing classic and contemporary carols by candlelight.”

The Music Ministry of Mt. Calvary is planning to have special music prior to the evening services on Christmas Eve. Enjoy the Bell Choir at 6:00 PM for Christmas carols followed by the service at 6:30 PM (with a string quartet, organ, bells, flute and timpani). Then at 9:30 PM, there will be a Pre-Service Concert of Christmas music in different genres and ensembles – instrumental and vocal, followed by the festive Christmas service at 10:00 PM with a string quartet, organ, flutes, timpani and choir. We are blessed to have several guest performers (a string quartet, solo violin, cello and flute) along with our very own talented musicians and look forward praising the Birth of our Lord and celebrating together!
