Geertuida "Trudy" (Huygen) Walther, 84, of Acton
Trudy was born in The Netherlands, but moved to Acton and raised her family.

ACTON, MA—Geertruida "Trudy" Cornelia Walther (Huygen) died peacefully at home in Acton on July 8, 2016 after a short battle with cancer.
Born Sept. 6, 1931, in The Hague, The Netherlands, she moved to Massachusetts with her husband Adriaan Walther and raised her family in Acton. She was a member of the Acton Congregational Church and and of the Acton Garden Club, and took great pride in her beautiful garden. An accomplished artist in water color and photography, she held a Certificate from The Art Institute of Boston and also took many classes at the Worcester Art Museum and elsewhere.

She is survived by her husband, Adriaan, of Acton, a son Peter and his wife Jennifer of Waterford, Virginia, a daughter Ellen and her husband Robert Sousa of Spencer MA, a brother Kees and his wife Wil of Delft, The Netherlands, a sister Dicky Huygen of Scheveningen, The Netherlands, two granddaughters Ashley and Meghan Walther of Waterford, Virginia, and a nephew Bastiaan Huijgen of Berlin, Germany.
Visiting hours are on Monday July 18 from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave.(Route 111), and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 19, at 1 p.m. in the Acton Congregational Church, 12 Concord Road in Acton Center.
