How Many Acton Residents Are Fully Vaccinated?

ACTON, MA — Nearly 85 percent of Acton's oldest residents — people over the age of 75 — have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state’s data. Thirty-two percent of Acton residents as a whole are fully vaccinated, up from 27 percent last week. Roughly 2.1 million people have been fully vaccinated in Massachusetts, the state reported Thursday.

The state numbers account for vaccinations up to April 20 — only one day after eligibility was extended to all people over 16. Roughly one in five people under the age of 30 in Acton had received at least one dose at the time of the state's report last week. The number of young people who have received at least one dose is expected to rise in this week's report.

About a quarter of the town's residents have received just the first dose. Over 80 percent residents ages 65 to 74 — the second oldest age group — are fully vaccinated, and 10 percent in that age group have received just their first dose.

Acton reported 49 cases of coronavirus in the two weeks leading up April 17 according to the state report released Thursday, placing it in the "yellow" zone.
