Monday Essentials: NARA Picnic Pavilion Construction Starts, Aladdin Jr. Takes the Stage

Here's a quick look at what you need to know for the week ahead in Acton.

NARA Picnic Pavilion Construction: Construction on the NARA Picnic Pavilion is scheduled to begin this Monday, Dec. 2, with a target completion date of this Friday, Dec. 6, according to the town website, which notes the inner-park road access to the Pavilion will be closed during construction for safety reasons.

2. Public Meetings Preview: According to the town website, here's the week's lineup of public meetings: 

3. Crafts & Artisan Fair in Acton @ Voyagers, Inc: At 1 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 6 at 530 Main St., Voyagers will host an artisan and craft fair featuring original handcrafted and unique items made by homeschool family members of all ages. Get the details here. 

4. Disney's Aladdin Jr: Theatre with a Twist's Little Stars will put on their production of Disney's Aladdin Jr. this weekend at the Dragonfly Theatre at RJ Grey Jr. High in Acton. The Persian Monkey Cast's showtimes are 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6 and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7. The Purple Peacock Cast takes the stage at 1:30 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8. Get the details here. 

5. Steve Songs Children's Concert: At 11 a.m. this Saturday, Dec. 7, the Acton Barn Cooperative Nursery School will welcome back Steve Songs, who will be joined by David Stackhouse on vocal base and drums, for a fun concert for the whole family. Tickets $13 in advance and $15 at the door.
