Mt. Calvary Community Supper Seeks Support as it Remains Open
No more sit down dinner but our creative volunteers continue to feed our neighbors in need of a nutritious meal during COVID19
MT. CALVARY COMMUNITY SUPPER of ACTON SEEKS YOUR SUPPORT
TO FEED OUR NEIGHBORS DURING COVID 19
In light of the Corona Virus, Mt. Calvary Community Supper is working very hard to continue our mission of helping our neighbors with food insecurity. Our utmost concern is for the health and well-being for our guests and volunteers. Thus we have restructured our service to be a “drive-thru, take-out” supper every Wednesday evening, between 5 and 6 pm, in the back parking lot of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at 472 Mass Avenue in Acton.

As a state approved essential service, we are following the recommendations of Governor Baker and the Acton Board of Health and will adjust accordingly as the situation changes. For now, we will continue with a reduced volunteer staff to abide by social distancing and continually be sanitizing before, during and after our prep, cooking, packaging and handing out of a warm nutritious dinner. We will be preparing 200 meals to distribute to our guests. During the past 2 weeks, families with children, singles, groups of friends and seniors a have all been rolling through to receive a meal and additional treats we may have for the night. Last week, Bisousweet provided dessert, Cumberland Farm of Westford shared deli items, and Panera Bread of Westford sent pastries. The Acton Food Pantry shared milk. The Newton Food Pantry share sliced breads.
As our number of guests grows, Mt. Calvary Community Supper is also seeking your support during this horrific time when our neighbors are losing their jobs and the economy strains on financial incomes. As a non-profit organization, we sincerely appreciates sponsorship from individuals, civic organizations, charities, religious groups, scouts, students and local businesses. Should you, individually, with a friend or neighborhood, or a group or business wish to donate, please, consider this a unique gift of love by joining Mt. Calvary Community Supper in the fight to alleviate food insecurity for our neighbors in need. No amount is too small. An entire night’s supper for all who arrive can be provided for $350. If you wish to sponsor an entire night’s meal, you are welcome to join us to pack the meals or to hand out the meal as guests drive into the parking lot. It is such a rewarding feeling when you see their beaming faces and hear their words of thanks. It also provides us with a brief moment to help alleviate their social isolation. Thank you so much for considering supporting our neighbors with us.
