Police Log: A Tire-Less Prius, Larceny and Lots of Downed Limbs and Wires

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Nov. 23

9:14 a.m. – An officer radioed in to report being out with two vehicles behind the buildings at Nagog Park Drive. They were told to move along.

11:14 a.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on High Street.

12:51 p.m. – A report of a possible identity theft came in from School Street.

12:59 p.m. – A Conant Street resident reported receiving suspicious phone calls.

2:33 p.m. – A report of larceny came in from Main Street.

3:11 p.m. – Police responded to a reported alarm activation on Craig Road. It was conformed as accidental by an employee.

5:07 p.m. – Police assisted with a disabled motor vehicle in the Route 2 rotary.

8:53 p.m. – A caller reported two erratic motor vehicles—a black vehicle and a four-wheeler—doing donuts in the area of Torrington Lane. The responding officer reported the vehicles were gone on arrival.

9:50 p.m. – A caller reported a gray Prius lost its tire on Route 2A and then continued onto Route 27 with no tire. The responding officer reported the owner of the vehicle made it home safely, but was informed that driving without a tire is not an advisable move.

Sunday, Nov. 24

9:01 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation on Great Road. The building checked secure.

10:16 a.m. – A Lexington Drive resident called to report issues with his neighbor’s dog attacking his dog.

10:53 a.m. – Police responded to Brook Street for a report of suspicious persons.

11:35 a.m. – Emergency responders were called to Charter Road, where power lines were down and reportedly starting a fire in the leaves. NStar was notified, and the Highway Department was contacted for detour/road closed signs.

1:08 p.m. – A tree was reported down in the roadway near Strawberry Hill Road.

1:31 p.m. – A wire was reported down on Parker Street.

1:37 p.m. – Police responded to a report of the gate down at the railroad crossing and traffic backing up on Mass Ave. MBTA staff from Martin Street responded.

2:42 to 3:42 p.m. – Multiple calls came in reporting trees down on wires on Tuttle Drive, Flagg Road, Prospect Street, Minot Avenue, Juniper Ridge Road and Magnolia Drive.

4:20 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a tree down in the roadway on Great Road. The responding officer and a motorist cleared the roadway.

7:38 p.m. – A larceny was reported on Great Road.

9:45 p.m. – Police responded to Nagog Hill Road to assist with a lockout.
