Police Log: Man in a Duck Pond, an Ostrich-Skin Purse Missing

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Jan. 4

1:54 a.m. – Police responded to Chase Path for a report of a person claiming he was going to harm himself.

5:56 a.m. – Police responded to a reported disabled motor vehicle on Main Street. The responding officer reported the vehicle had a brake problem, and its owner was waiting for AAA.

8:27 a.m. – A man reportedly fell into a duck pond on Mass Ave while reportedly trying to feed the ducks. The responding officer reported the man was OK.

11:17 a.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported on Main Street, with a car off the road. Firefighters assisted in getting the vehicle back onto the roadway.

11:54 a.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Taylor Road. There were no injuries, but the Conant School sign was taken out in the crash.

5:06 p.m. – A mother-daughter domestic was reported on Great Road.

8:38 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a child locked on Tumbling Hawk.

9:11 p.m. – A deer was reportedly hit by a motor vehicle on High Street.

9:26 p.m. – Suspicious activity was reported on Great Road. The caller said his son may have taken the vehicle without permission.

10:35 p.m. – An anonymous caller reported what sounded like a domestic on Sachem Way. The responding officer reported all was quiet on arrival, and there was no answer at the door.

Sunday, Jan. 5

6:16 a.m. – A call came in reporting loud trucks on River Street.

8:41 a.m. – A woman reported losing her ostrich skin Michael Kors purse, but she wasn’t sure where.

2:09 p.m. – Police responded to a burglar alarm on Mass Ave. The building was checked, but no issues found.

4:42 p.m. – A motorist came into the station to report a past hit-and-run accident on Mass Ave.

6:47 p.m. – A woman turned in a testing kit she found at he corner of Prospect and Central streets.
