Police Log: Stolen Plates, Slow Drivers and Suspicious People Climbing in Windows

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 8

7:25 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a tractor trailer partially blocking an intersection on Martin Street. The responding officer reported the vehicle’s operator was waiting for fuel.

11:14 a.m. – Police responded to a commercial alarm activation in a basement on Great Road. The responding officer reported the vehicle checked secure.

12:38 p.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported in which a vehicle hit a Stop sign and continued down Hayward Road.

4:35 p.m. – A man came into the station to talk with police about plates allegedly stolen off of his vehicle on Hosmer Street.

5:25 p.m. – An erratic operator was reported on Strawberry Hill Road. Police spoke with the driver, who said he was driving slowly due to the darkness and traffic.

5:55 p.m. – Police responded to Mass Ave for a report of a disabled motor vehicle. It was moved off of the roadway.

6:23 p.m. – A door was reportedly left open to a home on Windsor Avenue, where the owner was on vacation. The responding officer reported nothing appeared out of place, and the door was secured.

6:59 p.m. – A report of a stolen credit card came in from Fort Pond Road.

7:50 p.m. – Police responded to Great Road for a report of a suspicious person pulling an AC vent out of the first-floor window. Police spoke with the woman in question, who reported she had locked herself out of her place and had to climb in through the window.

8:56 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Great Road.

10:57 p.m. – A call came in reporting the railroad guard didn’t go down when a train passed by Central Street.
