What you need to see, do and know on Jan. 10 in Acton.

1. Winter Warmth: Ever wonder how animals keep warm in the winter? Drop by the Discovery Museums at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10 to find out for yourself by testing the insulating properties of feathers, fur and fat, and more. Get the details here. 

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for Jan. 10 include the Open Space Committee at 7:30 a.m. and the Acton-Boxborough Transitional School Committee's Superintendent Search Subcommittee at 3:30 p.m.

4. Acme Theater's New Works Winter Festival 2014: Beginning at 8 p.m. this Friday, the ArtSpace over in Maynard will host  the 13th annual New Works Winter Festival, featuring the work of local playwrights, actors and directors. Get the details here. 

5. Chance of Snow: It could snow on Friday, Jan. 10, with a high of 34, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts possible snow or freezing rain overnight as the low drops to 29.
