Acton's oldest community theatre will perform 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf', by Edward Albee, on June 3, 4, 10 and 11.
From Theatre III:
Theatre III announces its upcoming production of the shocking dark comedy, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, by Edward Albee. Directed by Robert Runck and produced by Shahn and Ed Knights, the play will be presented for four (4) performances on Friday and Saturday nights, June 3, 4, 10 & 11 at 7:30 PM.
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf exposes the illusion-reality basis of the marriage of George and Martha. Following a Saturday evening party welcoming new faculty members, they have invited a young couple from the party over for drinks. In performing for this audience over the course of a long night into dawn, the two engage in an all-out struggle for dominance, a struggle which climaxes in George's taking away the illusion that has sustained their relationship over the years.
