Acton Police Put Out Car Engulfed In Flames
The car was on fire in the breakdown lane of Route 2.
ACTON, MA — A car fire in Acton on Friday morning caused heavy delays for commuters along Route 2. The car fire happened on Route 2 East, just before exit 42.
The car was fully engulfed in flames in the breakdown lane of the road. Crews were able to put out the fire by 9:30 a.m. Traffic was backed up past Newton Road.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. The only person in the car was the driver who was able to exit unharmed. The driver reported experiencing engine trouble prior to the fire.
