Volunteers Needed for Fundraiser on Concord-Acton Line

A fundraising launch meeting will be held Monday.

ACTON, MA – The Friends of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail are looking for volunteers for a fundraising campaign, the proceeds of which will help support the design costs for a section of the trail at the Acton and Concord border, the Boston Globe reports.

According to the Globe, a $350,000 gap in funding will be leftover after the towns contribute their respective amounts to a bridge crossing design over Route 2, and the group is aiming to raise about $50,000 before seeking additional state funds.

If you would like to get involved, contact Tom Michelman, president of the friends group, at tmichelman@gmail.com.
