"Without any time to salvage anything, the family was lucky to get their family dog, Benny and themselves out of the house," Smith wrote. "Although everyone was able to make it out of the house safely, almost nothing in the house was salvageable, including clothes, personal items, and irreplaceable photos, memories and family heirlooms."
