Arlington Debates Boston 2024

Arlington is split on whether it wants the Olympics in Boston.

This info comes via a Boston Globe writeup on Monday’s Q/A session with Boston 2024 reps at Arlington Town Hall.

Some Arlington residents at the “community conversation” spoke up about the potential environmental impact of hosting the global event, the likelihood of gentrification, and worries that the taxpayers will wind up picking up the tab if/when the games go over budget.

Others said they were in favor of Boston hosting the Olympics, because they think gymnastics is inspiring.
