Arlington Police Launch News Portal Website

The aim of the new site is to keep residents informed about police initiatives, events and incidents in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Police Department recently launched a news portal website to serve as a hub for updates and information about various police initiatives, events and incidents. The site, arlingtonpdnews.com, will have information for Arlington residents regarding all aspects of the police department's work. Among the information available is:

  • A news blog
  • Resources for domestic violence, substance use and more
  • Community programs the department hosts or participates in
  • Information on department services such as Homeless Outreach, Opiate Outreach Initiative and more
  • Instructions for submitting an anonymous tip or filing a non-emergency police report

"We hope this new site will be a helpful resource for those who want to learn more about our department, are in need of resources or want to stay up to date on department happenings," Chief Julie Flaherty said. "It's important for us to keep the public informed about incidents, policing initiatives and community outreach and events, and this will be a central location for all APD news and information."

The site is available to translate to several languages and allows anyone to subscribe to receive news from the department automatically via email. It is also integrated into the department's social media channels and will automatically broadcast news blog content onto the Arlington Police Department Twitter feed.
