Arlington Tax Rate Falls To Lowest In Over A Decade

But the average single-family homeowner will see a tax increase next fiscal year.

ARLINGTON, MA – The town's tax rate in Fiscal Year 2019 will be its lowest in 12 years. On Dec. 10, the Select Board voted 3-0 to accept the assessors' recommended tax rate of $11.26 per $1,000, YourArlington reported.

Property values in Arlington have risen 13.93 percent, and the average value of a single-family home is now $752,184, according to Assessor Director Paul Tierney. The average single-family homeowner will see a 6.3 percent tax increase from $7,957 to $8,462.

The town will collect $124,010,976 in total property taxes, which includes over $4 million in voter-approved debt exclusions, according to the Arlington Advocate.
