Arlington Tightens Playground Rules As Students Return

School playgrounds will only be available for in-person students during school hours.

ARLINGTON, MA — School playgrounds will be limited to in-person student use only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days, officials in Arlington said Wednesday.

The playgrounds will be open to remote students and the public after 4 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends and any day that in-person learning is not in session, which currently includes Wednesdays.

School playgrounds include:

• Bishop School (all playgrounds)

• Brackett School

• Dallin School (Florence Playground)

• Stratton School (Pheasant Avenue Playground)

• Peirce School

• Hardy School

• Parmenter School

• Thompson School (Playgrounds on School Property)

Since the Thompson School has some available playground space on site for school use only ,the school-permitted hours at North Union/Lussiano Playground have been modified:

• North Union/Lussiano Playgroundo Restricted for school use only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on days in-school learning is in session.

• Summer Street (Multi-generational area & adjacent to Hill's Hill)

• Buzzell

• Crosby

• Cutter/Reinhart Park

• Hibbert

• Locke (Davis Rd.)

• Magnolia

• McClennen

• Menotomy Rocks

• Parallel

• Poets Corner

• Robbins Farm

• Reservoir Beach

• Spy Pond Park

• Waldo

• Wellington

• Whittemore Park

Social distancing and mask compliance is mandatory at all Arlington playgrounds.
