Bridge Repairs Will Slow Traffic On Arlington Route 2 Ramp
MassDOT will implement temporary lane closures over the next three months to repair the bridge over Alewife Brook.
ARLINGTON, MA — MassDOT will implement temporary lane closures on the ramp from Route 2 East to Alewife Station in Arlington to repair the bridge over Alewife Brook.
The closures will begin on Monday, March 29 and are anticipated to continue through June 30. This will include alternating closures of the left lane and right lane, depending on the work being conducted.
The three phases of the bridge repair operations, the schedule of work, and the specific lane closures will be as follows:

- Phase 1 will be conducted from Monday, March 29, through Monday, May 17, and will require the closure of the left side of the ramp.
- Phase 2 will be conducted from Tuesday, May 18, to Thursday, June 17, and will require the closure of the right side of the ramp.
- Phase 3 will be conducted from Friday, June 18, to Wednesday, June 30, and will require the closure of the left side of the ramp.
Drivers who are traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution.
Appropriate signs, police details and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
