Developer To Reconsider Plans For Arlington Commercial Space
Demolition of the one-time home of two Mass. Ave. restaurants has been tabled as the developer goes "back to the drawing board."
ARLINGTON, MA – Plans to demolish a commercial building that housed two restaurants on Mass. Ave. have been put on hold. The Arlington Redevelopment Board granted the developer a continuance at its May 18 meeting.
Redevelopment Board Chair Andrew Bunnell said that "after hearing the outcry over the proposed plans, taking things into consideration, (the property owner) has chosen to ask us for a continuance to both literally and figuratively go back to the drawing board," Wicked Local reported.
The next hearing is scheduled for July 6. Bunnell said he hopes the developer comes back with something "more appropriate" for the space.
